Egg Hair mask - 10 Homemade Mask Recipes

Egg Hair mask

Have you ever tried to do at home, an egg hair mask ? The whole raw egg and raw egg yolk are natural ingredients often used in hair care products. Making an egg protein mask to beautify hair also gives the same results as those in a beauty salon. It is 100% natural, safe for your hair and economical !

Contrary to popular belief, a mask with egg is not only suitable for smooth and dry hair. It can be beneficial for all hair types, whether dry, oily, smooth, curly, frizzy or curly. It is rather the other ingredients associated with egg which determine the specific properties of the hair mask.

Before revealing 10 good recipes for egg masks, I invite you to discover the properties and virtues of the egg in hair care.

Properties of egg in homemade hair masks

The raw egg contributes to the health of the hair due to its high sulfur content and by the presence of a wide range of vitamins and minerals.

The egg yolk is rich in lecithin. It contains minerals such as phosphorous, zinc, selenium and vitamins A, D , B12 , B8 (Biotin), B9 (folic acid) in which the components are ideal for treating damaged hair.

Egg white, in turn, is mainly composed of protein. The egg gives shine to your dull hair. It nourishes, strengthens, and makes them more flexible and shiny.

The egg is especially used in cosmetology to treat dry hair. Note, however, that it may be combined in a recipe with other ingredients which have been designed to take care of oily hair-they are not necessarily incompatible !

8. Mask with egg yolk and cognac : Special Mask for hair loss

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons liquid honey
  • 2 tablespoons cognac

Here is a recipe from Michel . F :

I ‘ll let you read his testimony :

« My main problem : increased hair loss. I admit that losing more hair than usual may be the result of many problems, such as stress, lack of sleep and hormonal changes. Anyway, I was looking for anything that can accelerate hair growth, as well as natural products to prevent the loss of the remaining hair. And here is my latest discovery : the mask cognac ! Wait, I ‘m not crazy … I’ve found this recipe in an old book at my parents’ house and it works ! This mask works by stimulating blood flow to the hair roots. Cognac contains alcohol which dries the hair but is certainly suited for oily hair. Anyway, olive oil is present in the recipe to compensate for the drying effect of cognac.

Take my advice: Mix all ingredients in a glass bowl. Apply to washed and wet hair, massage and cover your head with a shower cap. You’ll look ridiculous, but it does not matter ! Leave the mask on your hair as long as you can, but not less than 30 minutes and not more than 2 hours. Above all, do not leave it on all night ! Rinse with warm water and let the hair dry in the open air. I do this mask once a week and I noticed a marked improvement in my problem of hair loss. See for yourself if it suits you too! »

The mayonnaise is an oil in water emulsion of egg yolk, vegetable oil and vinegar. This very popular condiment for accompanying certain dishes can be successfully used as a hair cosmetic. This is not a novelty;mayonnaise can be used as a hair mask because it actually nourishes hair and helps to get rid of split ends.
